WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

About This Blog

There's lots of talk about the presidency these days -- and let's be honest, it can get somewhat depressing. So we're turning our attention to a different presidential topic by looking back at class presidents at MHS over the years. We'll be posting photos regularly -- right up through Inauguration Day (and maybe beyond) -- so if you are looking for a distraction of sorts, please follow along. And if you know the whereabouts of any of the former class presidents (and officers) pictured, please send information to b11jfarr@mpspride.org. Thanks and enjoy!

2010-2016

2016 -- Aakib, Valeria and Lydia ... care to tell us what you are up to?

2014- Humza, Tyler, Shannon and Samantha are entering junior year of college (if they went to college). If anyone knows where they went, please let us know what they are up to ... or better yet, have them contact us themselves.
UpdatesHumza writes to say this: "I am currently in my junior year at Boston College. I am studying biology on a pre-med track. I am a part of the Muslim Student Association, Habitat for Humanity, Eagle Volunteers, the International Student Assistant Program, and I am vice president of the wrestling club. I also work at the recreation center here." Tyler: "I recently changed majors in school, and am currently taking classes at MCC to save money because of that. I am in MCC's Accounting/Business Administration transfer program, close to finishing my AA. In addition, I've been doing some traveling, and am working part-time in a restaurant to make money to continue that." Shannon:

"I am headed into my junior year at Eastern as a math and secondary education major. I am actually finishing this spring with my undergraduate in math and during the summer I start my master's for education, still  at ECSU. In the little free time that I have I am volunteering in a 7th grade math class at RHAM Middle School. I am also about to start my 3rd swimming season for D3 ECSU. If anyone is interested in reading my atheletic bio they can go togowarriorsathletics.com."

2013: Sam, Katie, Annie and Josh. Anybody know where any of these former class officers might be these days? Let us know! Update: Josh Essick tells us he's in his senior year at UConn studying Economics and Human Rights and working with HelpGrowCT, a "startup that is leveraging artificial intelligence to provide premium consulting to small businesses throughout the state." He's also president and co-founder of Pakta Consulting, a student group that he helped start while in Ecuador this summer while working with Social Entrepreneur Corp.

Update:

  • Dhurata: "I graduated from the University of Connecticut this past May with a major in Journalism and Political Science and a minor in Human Rights. • Carla is an oncology nurse at Smilow Cancer Center at St. Francis in Hartford. "I live in Rocky Hill with my husband for now," she writes, "but we're hoping to find a new house/location soon."

Update: From Connie -- "I currently work as a strategist at a financial firm and teach at Central Connecticut state university's school of business. I recently bought a house in Manchester with my husband Shawn Beals c/o 2003. We just rescued a dog named Gatsby."

2001: Kathy, Leah, Melinda, Jessica and Stephanie -- anyone care to share your whereabouts?

2000: Matt, Melissa, Tammy and Jamie were the class officers way back in the 20th Century. Where are they now? Stay tuned.

Updates:

  • From Matt Galligan: "I came across your blog on MHS class officers and I nearly died laughing when I saw my picture with my fellow Class of 2000 officers!  I had the pleasure of serving as the MHS Senior Class President with Tammy, Jamie, and Melissa as my fellow leaders of ’00.  I went on to attend the College of the Holy Cross and have been employed in the health insurance industry with United Health Group for the last 8 years as an underwriter.  The political bug that I caught in high school never left me and I found myself appointed to the Manchester Board of Directors in 2014.  I was subsequently elected to a full term in November 2015."
  • Jamie Milka: is now Jamie Kolek and teaches 1st grade at Washington Elementary.
